๐ฉโ๐ณ From the Kitchen ยท Homemade with HelloFresh
Surprised by the spread? I cooked them all.

I’m not a chef โ just someone who loves good food and finds joy in turning a recipe card into something worth sitting down for. Every plate you see on this page started in my kitchen.
A great meal isn’t only about flavour. Eating well is one of the kindest things we can do for ourselves โ and once you taste the difference, you don’t want to go back to anything less.

Why a meal kit?
Cooking from scratch can feel intimidating โ especially when sourcing every ingredient turns into its own project. So I started using a meal-kit delivery service: every ingredient pre-portioned, every step laid out, no last-minute scramble for that one spice you don’t have.
I chose HelloFresh. They deliver pre-measured ingredients in a chilled box, with beautifully designed recipe cards that walk you through each dish from prep to plate. The flavours aren’t the contemporary African dishes I grew up on โ but they’re delicious, nutritious, and a perfect way to push past my comfort zone.

Cooking outside the comfort zone.
Every week brought a new technique. Pistachio crusts. Samphire (I had to look it up). Hasselback potatoes that look fancy but are basically a fan-cut spud. Each box stretched my kitchen vocabulary a little further.

The best part: by the time you finish a recipe, you’ve actually learned something. The skills come with you โ into your next dinner, your next dinner party, your next homemade attempt at that thing you used to only order in a restaurant.

So here’s the spread. Each dish below has its own short video walking through how I cooked it โ pour a glass of something, browse the catalog, and pick a meal to try this weekend.
