This policy explains what personal information Data Cruise collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be impressive.
Who is responsible for your data
Data Cruise is the trading name of Adebimpe Odefunsho, a sole trader, who is the data controller for information collected through this site.

What I collect, and why
If you contact me
Your name, email address and whatever you write in the message. I use it to reply to you and nothing else. Lawful basis: legitimate interests — responding to someone who has contacted me.
If you book a session
Your name, email address, the time slot you choose, and your answers to the intake form — which will usually include a description of the work problem you want help with. I use this to prepare for and deliver your session, and to send you the written summary afterwards. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
Payment is taken by Gumroad. I never see or store your card details. I receive confirmation that payment was made, along with the name and email you used.
Please do not put confidential employer or client data into the intake form. Describe the problem in general terms, and bring anonymised or mocked-up data to the session itself.
If you comment or subscribe
Your name and email address, handled by WordPress.com. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Lawful basis: consent.
When you simply visit
This site is hosted on WordPress.com, which collects standard analytics such as page views, approximate location and browser type. I see aggregate statistics, not individual identities. Lawful basis: legitimate interests — understanding which content is useful.
Who else sees it
Only the services needed to actually run this:
- WordPress.com (Automattic) — website hosting, contact form, subscriptions
- Gumroad — payment processing
- The scheduling and video tools used for sessions — currently Zoom, and a booking tool to select your time slot
- Email — to correspond with you and send your session summary
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, so your data may be transferred internationally under the safeguards their own terms provide. I do not sell your data, and I do not share it for advertising.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to a booking: up to 12 months
- Intake forms and session notes: up to 12 months after the session, so I have context if you book again
- Records of sales: six years, because tax law requires it
- Subscriptions: until you unsubscribe
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask me to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how I use it, or provide it in a portable format. Where I rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Email info@datacruise.blog and I will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you think I have handled your data badly, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site uses cookies set by WordPress.com for essential functions, for remembering you if you comment, and for basic analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential ones being blocked may stop parts of the site working.
Changes
If this policy changes I will update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
